3 of ’21: Marfa

After reconnecting with old friends during Pandemic Year I, we made a commitment that Pandemic Year II wouldn’t keep us apart. So we booked flights, rented a car, and in mid-December traveled to Marfa.

There’s been a lot of ink spilled in Texas and national media about Marfa, and much of it is worthy of your time and a snapshot into situations that much larger, and less culturally significant communities also find themselves in. We were immersed in that almost from the beginning, and it is with you everywhere you go in Marfa.

But mostly we lounged around, ate, and enjoyed each other’s company on the edge of the earth. Also, we saw the Marfa lights, Saturn, and I helped lead the Marfa Christmas Tree Lighting.
